Mercedes-Benz Actros Engine Overhaul
Project Overview
Complete engine rebuild for a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Actros 2545 with 680,000 kilometres. The vehicle experienced significant power loss and excessive oil consumption. Our technicians performed a full disassembly, replaced worn pistons, reconditioned cylinder heads, and installed new bearings throughout the engine block.
Work Performed
Stripped and inspected OM471 engine, replaced piston rings and liners, machined cylinder heads to factory specifications, fitted new timing components, installed upgraded oil pump, and completed comprehensive testing on our dynamometer. The engine now delivers full factory power output with improved fuel efficiency.
Volvo FH Transmission Rebuild
Project Overview
Rebuilt I-Shift automated manual transmission for a 2019 Volvo FH 460. The driver reported grinding noises and difficulty engaging gears. Our diagnosis revealed worn synchroniser rings and damaged shift forks requiring immediate attention to prevent complete transmission failure.
Work Performed
Removed and disassembled 12-speed I-Shift gearbox, replaced all synchroniser assemblies, fitted new shift forks and actuator components, renewed clutch assembly, updated transmission control software to latest version, and conducted road testing under various load conditions. The gearbox now shifts smoothly across all ranges.
Scania R-Series Electrical System
Project Overview
Resolved intermittent electrical faults on a 2018 Scania R 450. The vehicle experienced random dashboard warnings, lighting malfunctions, and starting issues. Using advanced diagnostic equipment, we traced multiple fault codes to corroded wiring harnesses and a failing body control module.
Work Performed
Conducted complete electrical system scan using Scania SDP3 software, located and repaired damaged wiring behind cab mounting points, replaced corroded connector blocks in chassis harness, installed new body control module, recalibrated all electronic systems, and verified proper communication between all control units. All warning lights cleared and systems functioning correctly.
DAF CF Fleet Service Program
Project Overview
Established preventive maintenance schedule for a logistics company operating 12 DAF CF trucks. The fleet required standardised servicing to minimise downtime and extend vehicle lifespan. We developed a rotating service plan ensuring no more than two vehicles off-road simultaneously.
Work Performed
Performed comprehensive inspections on all 12 vehicles, created individual maintenance records, completed oil changes using Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30, replaced air and fuel filters, inspected brake systems and adjusted where necessary, checked tyre pressures and tread depth, tested battery condition, and documented all findings. Established quarterly service intervals with detailed checklists for each vehicle.
MAN TGX Turbocharger Replacement
Project Overview
Replaced failed turbocharger on a 2020 MAN TGX 18.510. The driver noticed sudden power reduction and unusual whistling sounds from the engine bay. Inspection revealed catastrophic bearing failure in the turbocharger unit, with metal fragments contaminating the intake system requiring thorough cleaning.
Work Performed
Removed damaged BorgWarner turbocharger, cleaned intercooler and intake manifold to remove metal debris, inspected engine oil system for contamination, fitted genuine MAN replacement turbocharger, installed new oil feed and return lines, replaced air filter and intake hoses, performed boost pressure testing, and completed multiple test drives to verify proper operation under load.
Iveco Stralis Brake System Repair
Project Overview
Addressed brake performance issues on a 2016 Iveco Stralis 460. The vehicle failed its annual MOT due to uneven braking and air system pressure loss. Our technicians identified worn brake chambers, leaking air lines, and contaminated brake drums requiring immediate replacement to meet safety standards.
Work Performed
Replaced all six brake chambers with Knorr-Bremse units, renewed air brake lines and fittings throughout chassis, fitted new brake shoes and drums on front and rear axles, rebuilt slack adjusters, pressure tested entire pneumatic system for leaks, adjusted brake balance across all axles, and completed brake roller testing to verify stopping distances meet DVSA requirements.
